Chrome Hooks On A Lure! Posted 10/25/2003

It is an interesting debate if "chrome" or shiny hooks really make a difference on a fishing lure. I can tell you this. I still have some original Rapala lures in my collection. They came with silver, chrome or shiny hooks - however you want to describe their color - and they out catch the later model Rapala lures with dull bronze colored hooks. The "wobble" is the same on all the lures as that action can be tuned. As a result I have changed the hooks to "shiny" on some of my other favorite lures. It does make a difference!
