| Fishing Line Suggestion |

Do you use Spider Wire, Fire Line, etc. type of fishing line? If you use these type of lines and one day it appears that your spool drag has suddenly stopped working, it might not be a drag problem.
These type of lines will cut into themselves and the knot that you used to tie the line to your reel spool will not last. So, you are sitting there with what appears to be no drag when in fact the line is turning on the spool because the tie knot is gone.
To minimize the problem with the knot, back your spool with soft material like string. This is also good advice for baitcasting reels of all sizes using monofilament line. The soft string backing will provide a cushion and will also help reduce damage to your spool shaft and axles.
